1. What are the reasons to use a baby sleeping bag for new born babies/infants?
All parents know about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), but only a few parents know that loose baby blankets or comforters could gather around baby’s face and cause re-breathing of the same air until there is no oxygen left, which leads to suffocation. Suffocation numbers to as many as one third of the babies who die from SIDS each year. From our extensive research and our personal parenting experience, we found that using a wearable blanket/sleeping bags/sleep sacks for our babies younger than 12 months of age would reduce the risk of being a SIDS victim substantially.
It is further recommended by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), and various other SIDS Alliance Institutes, for parents to use wearable blanket sleepers for their babies to minimize the risk of suffocation.
